Background
Lisa Rose has been at The Third Space since its open in 2001. She is widely recognised as a specialist in posture, core stability and functional movement, fusing western with traditional eastern knowledge and techniques, which she became interested in after travelling and living in Asia for a few years. This unique approach involves integrating cutting edge training techniques and postural enhancement training with more holistic practices such as breath work.
Lisa has achieved high levels of qualification with YMCA, London School of Pilates and has a BSc in Sport Studies. She also specialises is Ante/Post Natal fitness training and birth education. She has been in the health and fitness industry since 1994, working as an Outdoor Activity Instructor, Personal Trainer and Educator, working with people from all walks of life including high profile clients such as celebrities and business personalities, children and adults with disabilities, drug users and prison inmates.
Lisa is currently training with Janet Balaskas. Janet Balaskas is an author, birth educator and the founder of the Active Birth Movement. She is perhaps known best for her advocacy of active birth where a woman is free to move during labour. Lisa became a mother in 2008 and has since become passionate about encouraging women to have the best birth experience possible. Lisa who is currently training with Active Birth has developed her own class called Pilates/Birth Preparation – empowering women through education, practicing labour movements and relaxation and encouraging women to be active birth givers rather than passive patients. This enables women to feel confident and positive about making their own choices during the life changing experience of birthing and becoming a parent.
