Background
After completion of his BSc in Sport and Exercise Science almost 7 years ago, Phil moved straight into one-on-one training. Having played national level Rugby and Cricket. his background has always been in and around performance based sports. In 2000 Phil made the tough decision to move full time to the other side of the field and focus on his career in performance coaching.
Having worked the length and breadth of England as a Personal Trainer, Phil then moved further a field and after working as a trainer onboard cruise liners, worked as Fitness Manager and head of Personal Training at the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas.
Shortly after a move to London he continued to work training trainers for their roles onboard cruise lines and travelled onboard those same vessels lecturing on Training and Nutrition.
Over the years, Phil has written for several national fitness publications and also works as the Strength and Conditioning consultant for PhD Nutrition.
Having worked with elite level physique, performance and strength athletes, Phil applies the same science to all he trains. He has only too often seen that 'exercise' simply doesn't do it. 'Training' enables the body to have a finite point to get to.
Philosophy
Whichever way you look at it, the route to elite performance whatever its application, be it playing with the kids or winning Olympic Gold, is very similar. Knowing your start point, your strengths and weaknesses and the environment around you is the key. Remember that physical change is brought about by varied stimulus and your adaptation to it.
