The Third Space Superstars!

Want to see how your fitness stacks up against other members? Want to test your all-round athletic ability? Then The Third Space Superstars competition is for you!

You have until February to register your best score in four different events. You don't need to do all four events in one go, and you can have as many attempts over the next few months as you like - just try to get your best score in each

To enter simply ask the Duty PTI to witness and record your effort - press the buzzer on any floor to find the Duty PTI.

The events:

 3km Run ..... Dips (1 min)..... 1km Row..... Sit Ups (2 mins)

We have some great prizes up for grabs in each category (male / female - 18-30 / 31-40 / 41+), including a brand new bike for the overall winner! (criteria for overall winner to be determined)
Look out for the Superstars Class on the timetable - the perfect time to practice and get your scores recorded!

Event 1: 3km Run
Using the Cybex Treadmills in Quickstart mode, run as fast as possible for 3km. If you touch the frame, or stop at any stage, the test will be deemed null and void.

Event 2: Dips (1 min)
Using the dip frame and after locking the arms out, the trainer will align their fist with your elbow to show the depth to go on the dip - your shoulder must touch the fist for the dip to be counted. The trainer will start the clock when you are ready and will count the number of correct dips performed in one minute. If the shoulder does not touch the fist or if you lean into the fist then the dip won't count. You can stop at any stage within the minute.

Event 3: 1km Row
Using any Concept II rower set the power on the fly wheel to wherever you wish and secure your feet. The test will start as soon as you pull the handle and the display will automatically show the distance and time. The time will be recorded when you reach 1km.

Event 4: Sit Ups (2 mins)
Lie on your back on mat, with feet flat to the floor and knees bent at 45 degrees. The trainer will place their hands on your knees. Start with hands on head and both shoulder blades flat to the floor, and begin when the trainer starts the clock. Both elbows must touch the trainer's hands whilst still touching the head for it to be deemed a sit up. You can stop at any stage throughout the two minutes. The number of correct sit ups performed in the two minutes will be recorded.
