Mind and body!
Belinda focuses on facilitating wellbeing through analysis of the mind body connection.
Belinda facilitates bringing mind and body together to reduce physical and emotional pain. The body is a great source of information for developing a plan for recovery and wellbeing.
Starting training in Complementary Medicine and Stress management in 1976, Belinda has studied Remedial Massage, Clinical Aromatherapy, Pregnancy, Reflexology, Neuromuscular, Tui Na, Hara, Sports, Deep Tissue, Biodynamic massage, Nutrition, Relaxation techniques, Tai Chi, Tao Te Ching, Alexander Technique, Dance, Qi Gong. More recently Belinda has been training in Myofascial Integration and CORE care Rolfing.
My way of working takes into account over 12 years of training and experience in Integrative and Humanistic Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have undertaken additional courses in Groupwork, Bodywork, Trauma and recovery, Relational approaches, Assertiveness, CBT, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Sports Hypnotherapy, Smoking Cessation,Weight Management, Hypnosis for Pain management and Childbirth and Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy.
Belinda uses breath and relaxation to bring mind & body together, reducing the harmful effects of pain and stress. This reduces mood swings, emotional instability, & improves, self esteem, problem solving skills, self understanding, increased choice in thinking, relaxation, confidence, sleep, ability to focus, creativity, resilience, relationships at home and work, positivity, and in turn reduces cortisol, blood pressure, anxiety and panic attacks, tension, pain and stress related disorders.
CBT, Mindfulness and Transactional Analysis therapy provide a structure for developing coping skills, habit reversal and others skills for many problems including: Weight management and Smoking Cessation. These skills and others are also included in Belinda's “Relax to the Core” 5 Step Stress Reduction programme.
I also facilitate workshops on Bite-sized Positive Practical Stress Management, and Mindfulness Meditation.
