Steve is Joint Head of Medical Services of The Third Space Medicine and practices as a Western and Chinese Herbalist as well as an acupuncturist.
As a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Steve offers a different framework for understanding health and disease compared to western medicine. Often apparently disparate signs can be linked and understood in TCM, when western medicine may see no connection.
As a western herbalist he has spent 4 years learning western medicine, and is comfortable using either system.
After a full case history is taken a diagnosis is made and treatment correspondingly follows. Steve is happy to respond to the preferences of his patients in constructing a treatment plan, and is equally at ease drawing on his experience of the last 25 years to offer guidance if they are unsure as to which treatment is best for them.
Steve specialises in:
- Musculo skeletal pain and problems - stiff neck, bad backs, sciatica etc
- Male and female infertility
- Gynaecological conditions – no periods, painful periods, PMT, too frequent periods, menopause
- Anxiety / Stress – headaches, tiredness, post viral and ME
Digestive complaints – heartburn, ulcers, IBS (the topic of his Masters degree dissertation), inflammatory bowel disease, Colitis etc
- Atopic problems - Asthma, Eczema, Allergies (Hayfever, Urticaria)
- As well as other skin conditions (acne, alopecia & psoriasis) and cardiac problems - Hypertension, poor circulation.
