Clinical Aromatherapy

Clinical Aromatherapy is an advanced holistic treatment.

Combining acupressure, deep tissue and other massage techniques with a unique blend of organic herbal infused, vegetable, therapeutic essential oils and hydrosols to stimulate the bodies innate healing powers.

It is based on traditional massage, plant medicine, the therapeutic uses of essential oils and modern research on the chemical properties.

What is it good for?

Clinical Aromatherapy is helpful in reducing pain and tension, releasing hormones to elevate mood, reduce anxiety and stress, improve circulation and removal of toxins, strengthen the immune system, inducing deep relaxation, calm and improved sleep and energy levels. Clinical Aromatherapy is an opportunity for nurturing mind and body, during times of stress, ill health and to harness our innate healing power. It is also very helpful during infertility treatments and pregnancy.

The treatment is tailored to the individual needs be it sedatory or stimulatory.

This therapy helps musculoskeletal and neurological disorders, injuries, respiratory conditions e.g. sinusitis and asthma, coughs, flu, colds, post operative pain, emotional issues; depression, panic attacks, anxiety, digestive, cardio-vascular, skin and endocrinological disorders.

What happens in a consultation?

You will need to see a Clinical Aromatherapist for consultation. The practitioner will recommend frequency, number of treatments and oils for home use dependant on your emotional and physical wellbeing.

The duration of the treatment: 1 1/2 hr, 1hr or 3/4 hr dependant on aim and condition.

Preparation and Requirements

It is best not to have eaten an hour before treatment and alcohol should be avoided prior to and after treatment. There is a light residue of oils left on the skin after treatment which will be absorbed over the next 24 hours. To gain maximum benefit avoid bathing for the next 8 hrs, drink plenty of water to aid detoxification, relax and wear clothing that will not be adversely effected by oil.

Most people feel sleepy, have a feeling of wellbeing and calm or fall asleep during treatment. If a stimulatory treatment is required due to low energy levels, then clients have a sense of wellbeing after treatment. It is not recommended that you undertake a long drive or operate heavy machinery after treatment because of the likelihood of being sleepy.
