Massage (Sports)

Focuses specifically on muscle recovery rate to alleviate the aches and pains of exertion and competition.

Most professional athletes use sports massage by using manual techniques to manipulate soft tissues (muscles tendons and ligaments), and aid lymphatic drainage. In sports treatments it helps to enhance performance and prevent injury. Stretching muscles is a vital component of the treatment.

What is it good for?

Sports massage is effective in removing the build up of lactic acid, and treating soft tissue injuries. These common injuries can be intensely painful and lead to more serious problems. Muscle imbalances can be addressed and the muscles released by specific bodywork skills. Massage can be used as a highly effective form of stress control and relaxation.

What happens in a consultation?

A sports massage.

Preparation and Requirements

It is best advised not to drink or eat heavily an hour and a half before treatment.
