What happens in a consultation?

The system propels a jet of microcrystals across the skin surface, removing dead unwanted and damaged skin cells. In addition to this deep cleansing, Microdermabrasion also helps to remodel the collagen in the skin. The benefit is that after just one treatment you are able to leave the clinic with a clean and fresh sparkling skin. The technique is very quick, relatively painless and takes around 20 minutes. The microcrystals are smooth and are vacuumed at a power comfortable to most people.

Preparation and Requirements

If you are using skin care products containing retina A, hydroquinone or glycolic acid you should stop using them 48 hours before your treatment. You may resume them 24 hours after treatment.

How soon will you see results?

Microdermabrasion is a progressive procedure. After the first session your skin will feel softer and you may see a very subtle improvement. Generally a minimum of four sessions is required to gain visible improvement. Your skin however will improve with additional treatments as increased circulation is noted within the dermis and newer, healthier skin cells are produced.

After Care

You can carry on with your daily routine after treatment and make up can be reapplied immediately if required. You may find the area treated is red in colour. This is a good sign that the treatment is working and should fade very quickly. You must use a moisturiser that contains a UV sunscreen whilst undertaking Microdermabrasion. You will be best advised as to a skin care routine following treatment.
