Skin fillers are used in a procedure known as soft tissue augmentation. These materials are implanted into tissue to give a fuller look and to reduce depressions and scars. They may be temporary or permanent.

The filler we are using is Juvederm Ultra, the latest hyaluronic acid filler of choice with professionals. It is said to last up to twelve months and can be used to fill those tell-tale lines and wrinkles between the nose and mouth, and also to enhance lip volume. Juvederm has a built in local anaesthetic to make a procedure more comfortable.

Temporary fillers are slowly absorbed into the body and the effect gradually wears off. If a good correction is obtained with a temporary filler, the use of a more permanent filler could be considered.

It is used for deeper lines and wrinkles, lip augmentation and plumping out acne scars.

Preparation and Requirements

AFTER TREATMENT
After treatment there is usually some swelling, and redness, which settles spontaneously. The effects of the injection need to settle so final results are seen after 3-4 days. Temporary fillers last about 6-12 months and if desired, follow-up treatment can be performed.
