Introduction
Zero Balancing is a paradox. On the one hand, it is a gentle form of bodywork, yet the quality of touch reaches the deepest levels of being. Zero Balancing explores the relationship between the physical structure and the subtle energy field of the body.
The treatment uses a specific form of deep touch that is applied to the bones of the body; particularly the ribcage, lumbar spine, pelvis, feet and skull. The focus is on the areas where we don’t have conscious movement such as the sacro-iliac joints or the tarsal bones of the feet. Touch at these areas helps the body to reorganise itself around the stimulus.
What is it good for?
Zero balancing can be useful for any number of physical, mental and emotional issues. Physical pains, tensions and discomfort can be quickly soothed. Mental issues like concentration lapses or stress can be equilibrated. Mood swings or lack of vigour can shift with Zero Balancing. In addition, Zero Balancing can help with dealing with the ebbs and flows of life.
Whilst Zero balancing can’t change a life event from happening, it can make it easier to cope, as the energy field is clearer and stronger. Interface touch is used, so that there are clear boundaries between practitioner and client. This means that it is a safe form of touch even for those who might be vulnerable or have experienced trauma.
Releases stress and improves the flow of energy in our bodies Did you know that bones and other connective tissue actually conduct energy? Zero Balancing helps to free the flow of energy in the musculoskeletal system to help relieve stress and boost your body’s natural energy.
Reduces pain and discomfort
Blocks in the body’s energy often lead to imbalance, discomfort and pain. Zero Balancing helps open stuck areas in the body’s natural shock absorbers: the tarsal bones in the arches of the feet, the joints where the ribs meet the spine, the neck, the hips and the sacrum. Once these areas are free, pain can release.
Enhances stability, balance and freedom
What happens in a consultation?
During a short consultation, you and the practitioner discuss your current state of health and what you want to achieve in the session. Zero Balancing is performed lying fully clothed on a couch. Finger pressure is then applied to the different areas of the body in a sequence. The session is often deeply restful and you may benefit from having some time afterwards to settle before getting back into the swing of life.
